Jorge Valdano: “City had nothing prepared for Gago!”

Fernando Gago

Jorge Valdano, Real Madrid’s sporting director criticized Manchester City for the rumour from the transfer market viewing Fernando Gago’s move to Premier League.

“Manchester City had nothing prepared, not even one document signed. The English club had not reached an agreement with the player and they would have needed to do everything in 40 minutes.”

The midfielder’s agent, Marcello Lombilla, told that the club from Manchester has used them. “This has never happened to me before. I don’t want to talk about the figures that City were offering because they approached Madrid without even knowing there wasn’t physically enough time to put something together.”, he said.

Gago played 76 matches for Real Madrid and scored only a goal since 2007.
